The entire anti-doping section and the list of prohibited
substances have been harmonised with the World Anti-Doping
Code, endorsed by FISA in Milan in 2003. According to the
World Anti-Doping Code, “Anti-doping rules, like competition
rules, are sport rules governing the conditions under which
sport is played. Athletes accept these rules as a condition of
participation… It is each Athlete’s personal duty to ensure that
no Prohibited Substance enters his or her body.”

Among the issues discussed by council
members were the Olympic contingency
plan, the Anti-Doping Bye-Laws, the World
Cup venue bid, boat buoyancy and boat
length. The chairperson of each FISA
commission presented its annual report to the council.

Saturday night. Also present were: Helmut Griep, President
of the German Rowing Federation; Siegfried Kaidel,
Treasurer of German Rowing Federation; Dr. Claus Hess,
Honorary Vice-President of FISA and Honorary President
of German Rowing Federation; Henrik Lotz, Honorary
President of German Federation; Prof. Walther Tröger,
Honorary President of German NOC; Dr. Roland Baar,
Olympian, Keller award winner, IOC Member Germany;
Wolfgang Tiefensee, Mayor of Leipzig.
