host the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic
Games. Eton's Dorney Lake will be the
Olympic Rowing Regatta venue. It also staged
the first stage of the 2005 BearingPoint
Rowing World Cup as a test event for the
World Rowing Championships in 2006.

Bidding news: 2008 and 2009 candidate cities
narrowed down
The FISA Council selected Poznan (POL) for the 2009 World Rowing
Championships, Gainesville (USA) for the 2009 World Rowing Junior
Championships and Brandenburg (GER) for the 2008 World Rowing
Under 23 Championships. These proposals will be confirmed through a
ratification vote by the FISA Congress during its annual meeting on
5 September in Gifu, Japan.

2008 World Rowing Under 23 Championships: Poznan (POL)

one Rowing World Cup regatta
in 2007 and one in 2008.
National Federations and/or
Organising Committees interested in bidding for these events
should contact FISA to receive
the bidding documents. Bids are
due in by 15 December 2005
and decisions will be made in
late January 2006.
The 2006 Rowing World Cup
has been assigned to Munich,
Germany ( 26-28 May), Poznan,
Poland ( 16-18 June) and Lucerne,
Switzerland ( 7-9 July).
