The five finalists for the Thomas Keller Medal, the
highest honour in the sport of rowing awarded for an
«outstanding career in rowing» have been selected
by the FISA Council and Commission members.

China stages huge
reality
TV show to select cox
In May 2006, China’s national
rowing team will begin searching
for two men and two women to
join their team as coxswains in
view of the 2008 Olympic Games
in Beijing - via a nation-wide
TV reality show. 300,000 people
are expected to register and an
estimate of 1,800,000 people
will be directly involved in the
show. The competition will last
for one year and the winners
will be narrowed down through
contests and online public voting.
ERRATUM
Finland’s female lightweight double
sculls won a bronze medal at the
2005 World Rowing Championships,
not a silver as mentioned on pages
28 and 29 of the 2005 autumn-winter
edition of World Rowing Magazine.
«Reality Show» monstre
en Chine pour sélectionner
les barreurs olympiques
L’équipe nationale d’aviron
chinoise va utiliser une émission
de téléréalité à l’échelle du pays
dans son ensemble pour découvrir
les deux hommes et deux femmes
appelés à devenir ses barreurs
aux Jeux Olympiques de 2008 à
Beijing. Elle compte sur
300’000 inscriptions et estime à
1’800’000 le nombre de personnes
qui prendront directement part
au programme. La compétition
durera un an et les vainqueurs
seront choisis par concours
et vote en ligne du public.

a remporté une médaille de bronze
aux Championnats du monde
d’aviron 2005 et non une médaille
d’argent comme mentionné aux
