new crew combinations
The regatta season following the Olympic Games is often
one of changes. At the start of a new Olympic cycle, crews
enter a new phase in their rowing career: athletes retire,
younger athletes appear on the World Rowing stage,
“oldies” make a comeback... It is also a popular time to
change established crew line-ups and test new
combinations.
World Rowing looks at familiar faces sitting in new seats
and finds out about renewed motivations for the years
leading up to London 2012. ■ C. Z.
